"Giving up the Keys" – Safe Driving
Register for September 30 at 12 noon, here
Perhaps one of the most contentious issues caregivers may face – is it still safe for the one we care for to drive? They have cherished that driver’s license, and their independence, since they were teenagers. However, changes in mobility, eye sight, and brain function can make driving dangerous for ourselves and others. How can we, as caregivers, know when it is time for someone to give up those keys?
Join our presenter Annie Murphy, Program Coordinator for the RI Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Annie has been with the Alzheimer’s Association for 11 years and has worked with countless family caregivers. She will talk about warning signs that it may not be safe to continue driving and will suggest resources to help caregivers address this issue. Annie will also address the emotional side to "Giving up the Keys".
Presenter:
Annie Murphy
is a Master Trainer for the nationally recognized
Powerful Tools for Caregivers.
