Serving Together Again
We are excited to announce Serving Together Again, a new initiative designed to support older service members, veterans, and their families through connection, purpose, and community engagement within our Village network. Serving Together Again provides an opportunity for veterans and military-connected individuals to continue serving their communities in meaningful ways while building relationships and receiving support from those with shared experiences and understanding.
Each existing Village — along with future Villages currently in development — will include a “Serving Together Again” overlay that offers specialized opportunities, programs, and support for those who identify as service members, veterans, or military family members.
Serving Together Again welcomes:
- Active-duty service members
- Veterans
- Military spouses and family members
Program opportunities may include (but are not limited to):
- Peer connection and support
- Veteran-centered social activities and events
- Volunteer opportunities and community engagement
- Assistance requests matched with veteran volunteers when available
- Educational workshops and resource navigation
We are proud to be developing this initiative in partnership with:
- VA Providence Healthcare System
- Thrive Behavioral Health
- Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)
- Additional community partners as the program grows
Planned trainings and educational opportunities may include:
- PTSD awareness and trauma-informed support
- Navigation of veterans’ benefits and resources
- Suicide awareness and prevention
- Community support and peer engagement
- Holistic self-care
These partnerships will help provide ongoing support, training, outreach, and resource navigation for participating members and volunteers. Each Village will recruit “Serving Together Again Ambassadors” to help promote, support, and strengthen the initiative within their local community.
