About this event

Zoom Meeting

Memory and Aging Program
Butler Hospital
This Memory and Aging Program presentation will briefly go over some basic Alzheimer’s disease education as well as brain health tips and a definition of "what's normal and what's not" when it comes to memory and aging.

Participants will also learn all about a new lifestyle intervention study for the prevention of Alzheimer's called the U.S. POINTER study. This is great chance to learn what’s new in Alzheimer's prevention research, what is involved, and who might be eligible.

Athena Lavoie: Athena has been an Outreach Coordinator for over three years at the Memory and Aging Program (MAP). She received her bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University in Communications with a minor in Biology. Athena serves as primary liaison between MAP and primary care physicians, community-based providers and support organizations. She also manages referrals to Butler's Alzheimer's Prevention Registry and leads a team of community-based and student volunteers called the "Swab Squad" who assist the Memory and Aging program with clinical trials and at community events.
