Zoom Meeting
Longevity Explorers:
"Rethinking Through Forensic Analysis"
This session, hosted by guests
Stephen Gilson
, PhD and
Elizabeth DePoy
, explores "forensic analysis" and how we can use creative problem-solving to make use of everyday items in new ways.
The presentation will begin with the illustration of a simple process called "forensic analysis". This rethinking strategy is a method of examining what fails our changing bodies if we try to keep doing business as usual and then using barrier identification as a guiding light to innovation. The illustration will include the presenters' own examples and then invite a discussion, questions, and sharing of personal innovations from participants.
Presenters
Stephen Gilson
, PhD and
Elizabeth DePoy
, PhD are professors at the
University of Maine
. Their research over the past 15 years has focused on the development of mobility equipment and other strategies to foster ongoing productivity as our bodies change. The impetus for many of their innovations is their lived experience of aging with impairments.
